The sun

When the sun is out in London, it becomes a new city. There is more life on the street, people are smiling, the tube is sweltering...but it's still not too bad. I don't have to wear a jacket. We don't have to turn on the overhead lights in my office. I can sit in the park, or on the lawn in front of where I work to eat my lunch. Life is grand...and hopefully it will stay this way.

We are enjoying the sun. Just happy to see blue sky. I thought we were back in Spain this week.

Wait until you experience the signs on the tube warning you to take water with you on your journey. I think those start when it is 80F and up.

And I figure it will snow next week since we have friends from the States coming. It snowed 3 inches for our last US guest....

You can't beat summer in London. I spent all of my lunch breaks in 2005 in Green Park, and 2006 in St Paul's Churchyard. And every Saturday in Soho Square! I was surprised to discover how green London is - I think it's a surprise to everyone. It's not Spain, but it has its own beautiful sunny grey charm.

I'm hoping to spend many lunch breaks in Hyde Park.

Jen,
there is a very nice place for lunch in Hyde park we found. It is on the shore of Serpentine just before the bridge. It is on the right side of the bridge if you are coming from the museum. It might be about 1.5 kilometers from the museum - so take a longer lunch!
