Labor Day weekend

Even though we may be in a different country where Labor Day is not celebrated, we ended up celebrating it in true American style. Saturday turned out to be a beautiful day and the sun actually emerged from the smog. We walked along the Regents canals in the morning, seeing one of the locks being put to use, then headed over to a friend's place for a BBQ. There was much drinking, some chess playing, bad music on the radio, and jean legs were rolled up and shirts were discarded (not mine!). The burgers were great, as was the company..and at least for a day London didn't seem to bleak and lonely.

Of course Labor Day is Celbrated on Mon, not Sun, but what the heck. It's the burgers and friends that count. I hear you did celbrate a Mon holiday last week - Bank Day, sort of a Labor, non-labor day.
Aunt Bonnie
PS Uncle David celebrated Labor Day by working on the float in the morning and going to the lab in the afternoon. The usual.

It drives me mad! Some days I just can not publish my comments - I tried 3 times and it does not work! What do I do wrong. I suspect that I can not type the stupid letters correctly. Last try.
We had great non - labor labor day weekend as well. We had Louisiana style lobster boil (sort of mixing the traditions to make life good) with some of our old friends, some of whom actually lived in Louisiana, and some who just benefited from the care packages of Louisiana crowfish over the years we lived there. The only thing we regretted at 1:30 am that we did not sing all of our favorite songs, so we had to make up for it on the way to the driveway. I think this omission is a call for another lobster boil - may be this time the New England style, starting with the songs.
